Seham's Story:

In 2016, Seham immigrated to the US as a result of the Syrian war. Seham recently received her citizenship and spent the summer in Syria with her family. One of Seham's children was born in the United States, and she has two males and two girls. Seham used to cook and sell homemade meals out of her home and enjoys cooking for her spouse. In the future, she wants to work from home or in a restaurant.

 

About the Dish:

These savory stuffed pies, which are common in many Middle Eastern variations, have a flavorful spicy filling inside a flaky crust made of yeast. Fatayer can be eaten as a side dish or as a main course. They are particularly well-liked when served with warm mint tea at brunch.
