Bibi's Story:

I'm a native of Afghanistan. Since the Taliban attacked and took over my country and our lives weren't safe anymore, I arrived in the United States on August 29, 2021. Ten members of my family and I share a home. My dad and brother are still in Afghanistan. I decided on making this cuisine because it's a common and popular dish in Afghanistan. It also brings back memories of Afghanistan. We share this cuisine on some holidays, such as Eid days or gatherings. I enjoy preparing this food to remind myself of my roots and to help maintain my kids' childhood memories. By introducing others to this cuisine, I hope to raise their awareness of the rich flavors and foods that represent our culture. I intend to prepare and cook meals at home and eventually sell it to share our culture with the world.
