Azar's Story:
I'm from Afghanistan. I had to flee to the United States because the Taliban had taken control of my nation and it was unsafe for us to stay there, especially because they are aware that I work for an American company. I immigrated to the United States on November 1, 2022. I share a home with my family of eight. I unfortunately had to leave my siblings, son in law, and daughter back home. I enjoy making this meal called Rosh, because it’s my favorite and it brings back memories of my time in Afghanistan. During the Eid holidays and other significant occasions, Afghan women prepare Rosh for their family and friends I want to spread it to others, and I definitely plan to have my own restaurant.
